This print shows a lone rook perching on a branch, and was inspired by Pagan folklore. Sometimes known as ‘The Watcher of Souls’, rooks were seen as other-worldly beings capable of collecting the departed or returning souls back to the living. Maybe that is what this rook is doing..or he may just watching the farmer sew his crop and plotting a raid!
